Description

Academy Award®-nominee Viggo Mortensen leads an all star cast including Guy Pearce, Academy Award®-winners Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron and an incredible debut performance from Kodi Smit-McPhee. THE ROAD is a thrilling and deeply moving tale of survival as a father and his young son journey across a barren, post apocalyptic America. Respectfully adapted from Cormac McCarthy’s hallowed novel, THE ROAD boldly imagines a future in which men are pushed to the worst and the best that they are capable of – a future in which a father and his son are sustained by love.

Great book. Great film. So disappointed that there were no subtitles when I assumed all iTunes films would have them. So, for me, a waste of time and money. Won’t download/rent any more films from iTunes. This customer will go elsewhere. Get better Apple.

This is probably a great film. Unfortunately, the dialogue is IMPOSSIBLE to hear and there are NO SUBTITLES. Apple, please do get a grip on this: ALL films MUST have subtitles, not just for those poor souls who are hard-of-hearing or deaf, who can't watch films at all without them, but also for the rest of us who struggle to hear what's being said in a poor sound mix with muttered speaking, without having to set our sound systems to blow the walls down...

If you're thinking of watching this film, read the book first so you can get a true insight into the story. It is a great movie, and should be far higher rated on the I tunes store.

From beginning to end this powerful film is heartbreaking and depressing. If you have a soft heart….and I am not talking weep at Bambi and ET soft….beware. If you have depression don’t watch it will ruin any hope you have. This is not an uplifting film

I can't believe how many people gave this 5 stars!! It's a poor film that just bimbles along to nothing & the boys character is pathetic. I can't help but think he'd be a little harder growing up in that world & do people in the US really use the term Papa?? It's cringe worthy. Buy something else!

Far too low-budget to be anything more than OK. This is not an apocalypse movie.

Painfully slow, unrealistic (accepting the futuristic setting) and with actors that shouldn't be wasted on this story. The idea of the overly sensitive father figure with a whiny crying son struggling to survive against all lawless odds, as depicted in this film, is both too far from the imagination and irritating. Deep and dark for the sake of it. The reviewers that gave this film more than 2 stars must be either promoting the film or one of those people comonly heard saying "well everyone has a right to their own opinion" or "there is no such thing as an incorrect opinion".
