Description

Based on the best-selling book of the same name by Fortune reporters Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind, Alex Gibney incredibly reveals how top executives of America’s seventh-largest company walked away with one billion dollars leaving investors and employees with absolutely nothing. The film comes to a harrowing denouement as we hear Enron traders ringing hundreds of millions of dollars in profits out of the California energy crisis and as a result, we come to comprehend how the unimaginable excess of the Enron hierarchy had such a shocking and profound domino effect that may shape the face of our economy for years to come…

  • One of the best documentaries ever

At the core of every disaster you will find well meaning but deluded people surrounded by scum bags. This documentary recognises this and that is why it is amazing. Apparently it can be brought with only 4 million Enron Share certificates which most ex employees have in vast piles in the corner of the garage.
  • Excellent Expose of Greed

An extremely compelling documentary on greed and ego. You will be engaged, appalled and dumbfounded by the antics, and sheer stupidity of the people involved. I sat asking myself, "how did nobody pick up on this?" as much as "How did they get away with that?" at almost every chapter. The downside? It's rental only. Given the chance, I would click BUY.
