Description

A whimsical gay romance with a heart of gold, "Make the Yuletide Gay" follows a young gay couple, Nathan and Gunn, as they face their first Christmas apart. Sweet-natured Gunn (Keith Jordan) has to go right back in the closet to survive the holidays with his wacky Wisconsin parents, and cutie-pie Nathan (Adamo Ruggerio, "Degrassi: The Next Generation") is preparing to spend another Christmas with his cold-hearted parents. When Nathan surprises everyone by turning up on Gunn's doorstep, the couple is hilariously forced to juggle a hetero charade with their gay reality. With its bright, witty dialogue and handsome cast, "Make the Yuletide Gay" is one holiday treat you'll want to savor many times over.

It was a lovely, lighthearted comedy, full of cheeky innuendos, The cast are fabulous, especially the mum, played by Kelly Keaton, she has a laugh that nobody can ever forget!

Lots of cheesy lines and the plot very predictable but it is nevertheless endearing.
  • Funny with well rounded characters, and very very sweet

I thought this movie was surprisingly good. I found the innuendos and the pot head father hilarious. The character interactions between the three 'kids' was really realistic too.

Strangely, this film is rather good in a trite heart-warming sort of way. The plot is simple, the characters not complex, the situation undemanding but somehow the combination of Christmas, family warmth, a happy-ending (if somewhat predictable), and generally gaiety make for a pleasantly 90mins or so. Find a nice boy, curl up on the sofa on a cold day under a warm duvet and cuddle your way through to the end.

This is utter rubbish from start to finish...... poor script, poor acting apart from Adamo Ruggeirio and very bad direction. How this ever got past film sponsors and funders I will never know. The only thing that this film might have for it is a loyal gay following but liking it because its a gay love story is nonsense, it is so badly put together. Full of horrendous and badly acted out innuendo and double entendres that you would not have heard since Carry On.... the only thing is , Kenneth Williams and Barbara Windsor did it with more style. This is just such a bad script.... This is 90 minutes of your life you will never get back!!
