Description

An all-star musical romp finds Grace Kelly ("Rear Window," "Mogambo," "High Noon") about to remarry when wealthy ex-husband Bing Crosby ("The Bells of St. Mary's," "Going My Way," "White Christmas") pops back into her life and tries to win her back. Oscar-winners Frank Sinatra ("From Here to Eternity," "The Manchurian Candidate") and Celeste Holm ("Gentleman's Agreement") snoop around as reporters in this Cole Porter-penned musical remake of "The Philadelphia Story". Featuring jazz great Louis Armstrong ("Hello, Dolly!") in a duet with Crosby. Nominated for Best Story, Song and Original Score.

Just love this film, rather a twee story but the terrific music more than makes up for it. Pure escapism for me!

Brilliant, delightful musical. Unlike most, I prefer it to 'The Philadelphia Story', which I found stilted. And, of course, it doesn't have the wonderful songs and accompanying music from HS. A great film to watch on a long flight (at least once).
  • A great musical but not hollywood classic

This is a lovely musical, great cast(Love Louis Armstrong,Celeste Holm. Not so fond of the bland acting of Grace Kelly and the creepy Bing Crosby). Not a classic thou, but great songs.
  • Brilliant but you need to do the double bill

Completely agree that this is a fantastic musical, but the original movie it was based on - Philidelphia Story - is even better! Treat yourself and watch a double bill.

This has to be the BEST musical of ALL time! Amazing songs, first rate acting and the beautiful Grace Kelly! A timeless classic which, like a fine wine, gets better with age!
