Description

Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh and Oscar winner Emma Thompson give dazzling dual-role performances in this supernatural-tinged romantic murder mystery. Mike Church (Branagh) is a L.A. gumshoe with a knack for tossing off wisecracks and tracking down missing persons. But Church doesn't have a clue when he's hired to help a beautiful amnesia victim (Thompson) tormented by blood-curdling nightmares. Then an eccentric antiques dealer and hypnotist (Derek Jacobi) leads Church to a startling discovery: The source of the nightmares may lie in a past-life connection to Margaret Strauss, a world-famous pianist allegedly murdered by her composer husband... in 1948.

An original idea, highly talented cast and excellent setting and camera work. The advertisement does not do this film credit. If you don’t like romance, you have nothing to worry about. A beautiful work of art!
  • Very underated thriller (NOT Romantic movie at all)

I've absolutely know idea why the thriller "Dead Again" has been put into the "Romantic" section of iTunes. But there you go. The movie itself is actually very good and was favourably compared with a Hitchcock style invention, which in content and style is a fair assessment. Branagh and Thomson have a fair crack of US accents and the plot bobs along quite nicely in the two timelines of present day (OK 1991) and 1948. Good plot, good script and usually well acted; with plenty of memorable scenes. Another plus point being Patrick Doyle's superb score (available on iTunes also) At £6.99 it's nothing... go on.. buy it. :-)
