I am not one for endless gun chases and action, but I found this film to be very slow with a selection of unenthusiastic characters who possess no defining traits to separate them from each other. The story moved incredibly slowly, so much so that I stopped watching 3/4 of the way through. Even scenes which one would imagine to be exciting (eg Billys escape from prison) I found to be dull, slow and rather plain. However it does appear to be popular so maybe I'm just watching from the wrong planet.

Sam Peckinpah has done it again with a slightly different type of film than The Wild Bunch and Ride The High Country but still rather sad and hard in some scenes and it's understandable why they've rated it 18.
