Description

An AP team of Ukrainian journalists trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol struggle to continue their work documenting atrocities of the Russian invasion. As the only international reporters who remain in the city, they capture what later become defining images of the war: dying children, mass graves, the bombing of a maternity hospital, and more.

Amazing that this footage and the AP journalists that shot it, made it out of Mariupol, because it exposes the lies and propaganda the Putin regime spread the war in the Ukraine. It shows the real life effect of war, unrestrained by human rights conventions, on ordinary, innocent civiliians. Not an easy watch, you'll see doctors crying as they fail to save children and pregnant mothers severly injured by Russain shelling and air-strikes. On its own, this documentary is prima facea evidence of war crimes. But this only tells the story of the first 20 days of the attack on Mariupol, it held out fora further 65 days and conditions would have gotten far, far, worse for those trapped there. If you have a heart, you will cry. Don't let politicians forget, Ukraine needs our help.
  • A hard watch but brilliant. Buy it and watch it, talk about it.

Many things are described as extraordinary, this documentary really is.It is very carefully put together and the fact that it exists at all is close to a mirical. The story told is of the early days of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, set in the huge southern port city of (what was) Mariupol. It is a very hard watch, but it serves well to remind us all of how genuinely horrific all wars are and in particular this needless invasion. The AP journalist that put this together in my view deserve medals, both for courage and for the huge dedication they showed to tell a story that so easily could have been lost. Buy it and watch it, talk about it.
