Description

Avatar: The Way of Water reaches new heights and explores undiscovered depths as James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora in this emotionally packed action adventure. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water launches the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. All of this against the breathtaking backdrop of Pandora, where audiences are introduced to new Na’vi cultures and a range of exotic sea creatures that populate the majestic oceans. Nominated for numerous Academy Awards® including Best Picture, the James Cameron-directed film became the third highest-grossing box office film of all-time and set a new benchmark for visual effects. Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Joining the illustrious adult cast are talented newcomers Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass and Jack Champion. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.

  • A Long Movie!

Well, it wasn’t awful. I really had to gear myself up to watch this. I couldn’t watch it all the way through, I took breaks as it is so long! It’s ok, rather twee in places and overly long! It is visually stunning & the special effects are fantastic but the storyline is a bit boring. I guess it’s hard to get away from the bad boy gone good narrative, it’s all SO familiar. I guess it really speaks to lots of boys out there. Summation : it’s not the worst, it’s too long - I found myself wishing it would end multiple times - and the storyline is just ok. Do better James Cameron!

This is a beautiful movie both in storyline and graphics with many elements telling the story of the people adapted to various types of geographic terrain. It has many depths over which you can skim or explore. I’ve seen this movie three times now and the first time I saw it in IMAX and then twice on a large screen TV. When I saw it in IMAX I think I was so impressed with the graphics, which are amazing, that I missed much of the storytelling. I then watched it twice over the same weekend on TV and kept discovering more, and things I had thought not explained were in fact, I just hadn’t taken everything in. I watched this sequel as I loved the first movie and I should say that these movies are not at all what I’d normally watch. I’m looking forward to sequels three, four, and five which already have planned release dates spread over the next six years if the information I read is correct. As it seems to be either a love me or hate me movie, I’d suggest watching it and forming your own opinion as you just might find it entertaining.

Boring boring boring - same old themes, good guys bad guys, evil corporations, oh and yeah, killing innocent souls to extract a youth elixir for humans to stay young. Sound familiar?
  • Incredible in IMAX

It amazes me that with all our human creativity, technological advances in CGI, with all the diversity of life we have around us for inspiration, we make yet another war film, punctuated regularly with explosions, weaponry, and bodies being ripped apart .. and avatar 3 will be the same. I guarantee it! Beautiful, CGI expansive scenes of artistry and a story of violence and hatred strung together loosely with the idea of ‘family’. This family theme is used as a backdrop in a search for a place for emotional connectivity, so we can all justifiably enjoy the violence. The fighting and war is emotionally supported and stirred by anthemic orchestrations to make us feel good about the death and hatred. The two stars are for the cgi only

Best Scenes are the ones without the bland dialogue.
