Awful film, a few funny bits but generally very predictable and dull. Maybe you just had to know D&D to enjoy it.
  • Entertaining fantasy romp for the whole family

We quite enjoyed this - two adults and two young’uns. The kids particularly grew to root for Simon. Worth a watch and a worthy initial telling of Dungeons and Dragons lore. I hope with the cinema revenue and the rentals and dvd purchases they feel a follow up is worth doing. More Regé a must though please - very entertaining character!!!

Yeah I mean it was a fun movie.. I found a few little things that also made me chuckle.. I do have a few issues with the range of the hither-thither staff.. but yeah worth a watch imo

Great script, interesting characters and good monsters. Ignore the haters this is just a fun fantasy romp.

Can’t quite see why it’s getting such rave reviews - I can only assume it’s the fan base. It’s simply an ok fantasy/action flick with that type of humour that nerds think is hilarious - you know, that Joss Whedon style of dry, over talkative exchanges between characters. It’s been done to death, and not actually truly funny. Very American. Hugh Grant is wasted - he was a far better villain in Paddington. Probably because that was written well. People who go to conventions wearing elf ears will love it. Everyone else will either tolerate the running time or switch off after half an hour.
