Description

From Searchlight Pictures and writer-director Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) comes a unique feature film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. Although small-town neighbors Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson) have a lifelong friendship, they find themselves at a sudden impasse that brings alarming consequences for both of them. Colm has announced that he no longer wishes Pádraic to speak to him, insisting he will cut off one of his own fingers every time this request is breached. Despite Colm’s outrageous, unilateral proclamation, however, Pádraic is determined to salvage their relationship. Set against the backdrop of the 1920s Irish Civil War, The Banshees of Inisherin features a gifted cast, unique storyline and beautiful cinematography.

At the start I thought, this could be good, quirky characters and beautiful location! But then it all gets VERY dark! Not my kind of thing

Good acting, terribly pointless story. Great shots of Ireland and great cast, but honestly what was the point. Three billboards and In Brughes were great, but sorry not this.

Highly recommend & a refreshing change from all the recent social issue or diversity oriented films. You never quite know which way it’s going to turn out but well worth sticking with. Good story & well acted. Enjoyed it more than most so called Oscar nominated films of late.

This is a dark slice of humour, beautifully written and acted out. Great cast and scenery is exquisite. The story trails off at times but there’s always something to keep the attention and stir the imagination. Well done.

Fabulous cinematography, intriguing story and superb acting all round . Colin Farrell will probably get most of the plaudits but for me Barry Keoghan who plays Dominic should be nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actor. His performance is simply amazing.

Gagh I feel so completely torn by this. It was sold as a comedy, but it has no comedic bits in it. Visually it’s astounding, acting is purely on top form. But in every essence it’s tragic and…then it’s over. I was left scratching my head, I love everything about the film except the film it self. My husband loved it, he loved the simplicity of it but I just couldn’t wrap my head around it at all
  • Fantastic Views But!

We live not far away from these world class views but the story line is weak and tends to reflect the Irish way of life along the West Coast, even today. Gave my wife nightmares. Loved the animals.
