Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

Tarantino is hit and miss for me but this film was so boring. All the cast were there but had nothing to work with. Brad Pitt got an Oscar and i have seen him in 100% better performances than this. The movie had no story and the cast where wasted. Tarantino needs to stop trying to replicate old movie styles and come back to reality.
  • A Modern Classic.

Understandably decisive. Some would say that “Nothing happens” but the clue is in the title. It’s a fairy tale. A ‘What-If” story where a truly horrific murder (remember that Sharon Tate really was murdered whilst Pregnant) is prevented by a Hollywood Hero. 3 lives interwoven culminating in a classic Tarantino ending. Wonderful. 5 stars for sure.
  • Good ending. Slow build up

A clever alternative history of Hollywood in the late 60s. Never really goes anywhere though. You keep waiting for the story to start, which it does in the last 15 minutes and this last portion is great but the purpose and entertainment value of the over two hours of lead up to this is underwhelming and pointless.
  • Loved it. Until the end.

Great movie, for all the Tarantino loving reasons I won’t bore you with. However, if I my wife had been brutally murdered 50 years ago, and a young filmmaker decided to pay homage/ rewrite what happened, I’d be pretty appalled.

As usual Tarantino blends story with emotion, music and a phenomenal cast. Brilliant.

Tarantino has a lot to live up to with his previous movies all being fantastic and a couple being perfect, this one packs in so much in a fairly long movie that is not just his love letter to Hollywood but also his tribute to his habit of changing historical events through fiction. All the actors involved give out fantastic performances in a feel good drama which perfectly displays the changes of Hollywood and the terrors of the time.

It is utterly boring and pointless. A micro amount of action, which again is pointless and gratuitous.
