Description

    Rented it. Love it so much I then bought it. No idea what the 1 star ratings are about. Great characters that interest you. FIght are great. Interesting questions about who is good or bad. There is only a small fantasy element, which is the immortal part, no dragons. It's also funny in places.

    Refreshing shift from the aesthetics over content kung-fu ballet dramas that have dominated since Crouching Tiger. During the epic fights the emphasis is on the ferocity of the individuals and what drives them rather than impressing us with the choreography. The choreography is great though, in that it serves the narrative, is believable and engaging. Nice combo of colourful characters and character driven mayhem with an existential heart.
