It was enjoyable but definitely lacked something Not as good as the movies I watched growing up with Peter Ustinov a far better poirot

Is there any quality control over these new adaptations? It’s all about money, money, money.
  • Horrendously boring

Amazing cast, awful script, ridiculous ending, 2 hours honestly felt more like 10 hours, don’t waste your time

The film was too grand. You needed low lighting and an atmosphere with fast paced monologue
  • Another Typical Branagh Movie!

As for the movie and cast, Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi and Johnny Depp are great portrayer’s of the roles and bring justice to yet another Agatha Christie movie. Branagh could never be Poirot in a million years and quite sad to see it, but ignoring that and focusing on the rest of the movie, it’s not too bad. I agree, Suchet is the best portrayer of Poirot and do not understand why he wasn’t sought to play the role?? Typical Branagh, thought he could pull off the impossible, yet again he failed, but ignoring his failings and the rest of the movie, as usual, a great plot which never ceases to disappoint!

It's very good Firstly the cast choice is very good especially Depp (good to see him back as something other than Sparrow), Branagh -as Poirot, and while he isn't David Suchet he offers a different take on him along with a rather magnificant moustache, and Dame Judi Dench as an old battle axe seems almost natural. The rest are good even if some are somewhat under used. Storywise it's nothing new so unless you're unfamiliar with the previous film there are no great twists but it's a pleasnt jounrey to watch it all unfold. The cinamtography is top notch and there is one great tracking shot in particular. There aren't really any flaws in the way it's made. The elegance and decadence of the train is obvious in every shot and it's that attention to detail that makes it a joy to watch. The next movie is set up nicely and I can't wait for that.

Shame on all of you! If you're considering this then do yourself a favour and get the David Suchet version. This one is dreadful from start to finish. Poor Mrs Christie must be spinning in her grave! Proves that an all-star cast and shedloads of money doesn't guarantee quality. There is a line 'please do not speak you make it worse', what a shame Mr Branagh didn't bear that in mind before his performance of that dreaful accent.
