Description

    We were apprehensive about watching this movie given all the negative reviews but what a surprise it was. It was very inventive and startling without the usual Hollywood nonsense. This movie represents an intelligent script that keeps the story moving along. I wonder how many viewers who have this a poor review expected the usual tropes associated with the genre. I think this movie was worth however much I paid for it. Well done and thank you.

    From a dark little book I was expecting a fleshed out Harry Hole and a story that zipped, shocked and entertained. This is a disaster of direction and with a great cast wasted. Unclear plotting and motive. The book is fantastic and dark. This makes you realize how hard film making from adaptions can be. Shame.

    I really enjoyed this - I enjoyed the pace and exploration of the characters. Not sure why this has not resonated with others. If you’re a fan of Harry Hole this is definitely worth watching. If you’re a fan of detective films - definitely worth a watch too. Genuinely hope there’s a follow up.

    I'm a huge Nesbo/Harry Hole fan and finally gave in to the temptation of watching this film. What a mistake. Terrible plot, gratuitous gore, flat acting and sub-plots which are completely unrelated. The main thread of the story is near enough impossible to follow and the ending is pathetic. Snowman was the first Hole novel I read - it is brilliant - please do not watch this film, read the books and if there is a sequel let's hope it's better.

    We were looking forward to this - book was great and the trailer looked good. However, the film simply doesn't stack up - no tension whatsoever and didn't particularly care who got killed. No feeling for the characters at all.

    I love psychological thrillers but sadly this for me was just slow and a bit boring! I also worked out the killer pretty early on so at least I got some joy knowing I was right! You want to be on the edge of your seat, enjoying the chase, the police working it out and it just wasn’t there. I’m disappointed it could have been so much more!
