Description

Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – has ever walked in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Academy Award® winning director Robert Zemeckis uses advanced technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story. The Walk is a love letter to Paris and New York City in the 1970s, but most of all, to the Towers of the World Trade Center.

Love this movie!!, brings overwhelming joy to film, believe in your dreams. Robert Zemeckis brings a fairytale quality to all his films, and fairytales are to be cherished. LOL🌺

The acting is brilliant and led by a Gordon-Levitt and his supporting cast. Character driven but also opens up to much broader notes on what limitations we put on ourselves and the possibility to follow dreams and make them come true. It was also really nice to see the twin towers in a way not related to their eventual fate. When they went up they were a beacon of engineering (even if they did look like two filing cabinets :) ). A well rounded film that is both good for the heart and the soul., Well worth a watch.

Enjoyed this movie. Not similar to anything else - perhaps because it is a true story about a real person's aspiration. Screenplay, costumes, New York and Paris in the seventies - depicted very well.
  • Really poor.

Poor accents, poor pace. Could have been a great story, but ruined by lack of presence of any actors and the awful accents.
  • WORST . CASTING . EVER !

It was like they took Joseph Gorden-Levitt, dunked him head first in a huge tub of talcum powder, slapped in some blue contact lenses and sent him to the HAW HEE HAW school of pretending you are French. I'm not even going to start on whatever the hell Ben Kingsley was trying to do. Special effects aside, which were excellent, the movie was flat out awful in every other respect. AVOID.

It was an interesting watch. was faintly aware of the twin tower wire walk and I guess that is what lured me in to give the film a go... even though the premise of drawing out a pretty small time frame event into a feature film length made me a little reticent. The acting is good... but the character was annoying to say the least. 3/5 as I'm just divided.
