Description

This taut psychological thriller stars Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener, Bruce Greenwood, Xavier Dolan and The Matrix trilogy's very own Carrie-Anne Moss. Elephant Song follows the events that transpire after the mysterious disappearance of an eminent psychiatrist who vanishes from his office. The last person to see him is a troubled and manipulative patient named Michael. The hospital director, Dr Greene, is called in to interview Michael. Miss Peterson, the head nurse, understands all too well the devastating loss that still haunts Dr Greene and warns him to steer clear of this particular patient but to no avail. Michael prattles on about elephants and opera (with the occasional hint of murder and foul play) and lures the hospital director into a devious trap. Dr Greene’s redemption will come at a hefty price...

Possibly the most boring film, I have ever seen. I can't even be bothered to comment any further, I feel so uninspired...

like the previous reviewer, i think this is wrongly described as a thriller - instead, its a deep and moving observation of events that effect so many but are spoken about by so few. it moved me to tears. a little bit of Girl Interrupted referenced by the main character. loved it. would recommend it.
  • More drama than thriller

I was expecting more of a thriller, but instead got a drama. There are points during the film where you think it’s going to kick off but it never did. A bit slow at points but it does eventually build to a satisfying climax. It wasn’t until the very end that I could appreciate the movie for what it is: a nice bit of drama, but no suspense.
